Introduction

Welcome to the Test IO community, where maintaining integrity and professionalism is crucial. We have a dedicated Compliance Team that plays a essential role in ensuring that testers adhere to the rules and guidelines while participating in test cycles. This article will provide an overview of what the Compliance Team does and offer valuable insights on how testers can stay compliant.

Understanding the Compliance Team:

The Compliance Team is here to ensure a fair and ethical testing environment. While their work is extensive, here are some key aspects of their role:

1. Upholding Integrity: They work to maintain the integrity of our testing ecosystem, ensuring that everyone has an equal and fair opportunity to participate.

2. Ensuring Adherence: They help ensure that testers adhere to the rules and guidelines, creating a level playing field.

3. Addressing Violations: When violations occur, they take appropriate action to manage them, maintaining the quality of our testing results.

4. Monitoring Test Cycles: They oversee test cycles to ensure that testers are following instructions and behaving ethically.

How to Stay Compliant

As a tester, staying compliant is a key for a successful and rewarding testing experience. Here are some specific behaviors to follow and avoid:

Do!

  • Follow Instructions: Always read and thoroughly understand the feature descriptions and test instructions provided for each test cycle.

  • Collaborate: Seek help when needed and assist others when possible. Collaboration is key to our success.

  • Respect Others: Be kind and considerate in your interactions with fellow testers, Team Leaders, and the Compliance Team. Written communication can be easily misunderstood, so choose your words carefully.

  • Report Reliable Bugs: Only report bugs that you can reproduce reliably. Reproducing bugs reported by fellow testers can also contribute to the quality of testing.

Don't!

  • Use Automated Tools: Avoid using any automated tools or scripts (virtual machine, emulators etc.) that may compromise the integrity of the testing process.

  • Engage in Abusive Behavior: Maintain professionalism and avoid abusive behavior or harassment in all interactions.

  • Rewrite Bugs: Do not rewrite known bugs to pretend they are new findings.

  • Create Multiple Accounts: Using multiple accounts is strictly prohibited.

  • Submit Non-Reproducible Bugs: Ensure that the bugs you report are reproducible and meet quality requirements.

  • Misuse Devices/Browsers: Use the correct device and browser as specified in test instructions.

Compliance Matters

Maintaining compliance is essential for the success of our testing community. Violations, especially severe ones, are taken seriously and can result in warnings or further action. We have a 3-warning policy, but please note that the Compliance Team has the authority to decide the punishment for rule violations. This can include warnings or temporary/permanent suspensions, depending on the severity.

By adhering to these principles, you contribute to a thriving, ethical testing ecosystem. Thank you for being part of our community and for your commitment to compliance.
